Tragic Movie Deaths

A few weeks ago on Twitter, #tragicmoviedeaths was trending. Although I’m a little late, I thought it would be fun to post a few tragic movie deaths of my own. Enjoy!

Eric Draven and Shelly Webster in The Crow

The happy couple before the murder

This is my favorite movie so of course it would be my first mention. The story of The Crow begins with the murder of this couple. Shelly Webster was beaten and raped while Eric Draven was shot and then thrown out the window. During filming for this scene, Brandon Lee met his untimely end. RIP Brandon.

Russel Franklin  in Deep Blue Sea

shark bait oh ha ha

Just as Jackson is screaming another climatic speech, he gets eaten by a shark. Bummer.

Justin Jones in Leviathan

Jones and company discussing what to do about the monster

Jones, Willie and Beck fought so hard to get away from the sea creature! They escaped their ship and got to the ocean’s surface. A helicopter was trying to rescue them when the creature surfaces! In the end, Jones sacrifices himself to make sure Back and Willie live.

Ben in Night of the Living Dead

Ben ready for action

This death makes me mad every time! Ben was trapped in the basement with hundred of zombies all night. He made it through the night and the military came. Just as he was leaving the basement and about to come outside, the military mistake him for a zombie and shoot him in the head. He gets thrown in a pile of burning bodies.

Guido Orefice in Life is Beautiful

Guido and his son in the concentration camp

Guido dies trying to protect his son and help his wife escape in this movie about the Holocaust.

Mufasa in the Lion King

Mufasa trying to climb to safety

This has to be one of the saddest movie deaths of all time. Thanks to Scar setting him up, Mufasa  has to save his son, Simba, from a stampeding herd of wildebeests. After safely tucking Simba away, Mufasa tries to climb to safety but Scar tosses him off the side of the cliff. Talk about brotherly love huh.

Littlefoot’s Mother in the Land Before Time

Littlefoot and his other before she dies

Littlefoot’s mother’s battles with a Tyrannosaurus to save her son and his friend. At the same time an earthquakes hits, swallowing up many dinosaurs (including the Tyrannosaurus). Littlefoot finds his mother in bad condition. Before she dies she tells him how to get the Great Valley safely.

Bambi’s Mom in Bambi

Bambi’s mother is shot by a hunter.

Noah and Allie in the Notebook

Noah reading to Allie from the notebook

I know, I know, this was a chick flick and they’re supposed to be sad. But this REALLY got to me. Noah’s health deteriorates after a breakdown when Allie can’t remember him. In the middle of the night he sneaks into her room and she remembers him. The couple die peacefully holding hands.

Bubba in Forrest Gump

Bubba dying in Forrest's arms

Bubba got hit in the stomach as he was fleeing the gunfire in Vietnam. Forrest finds him and he dies in his arms. Very sad. =[

The Women in Set It Off

She's about to set if off

Things go wrong the final bank robbery. TT gets shot by a bank guard and dies as the girls are getting away. Cleo is killed in her car as she tries to fight her way through a police barricade and Frankie gets shot by an officer when she tries to run.
