Teen Mom Caught Trying to Murder Her Child

As tragic as this news story is, it illustrates a very important point. If you have a child, you need to be prepared. Having a baby is not like having one of those dolls that wets itself and cries. You can’t take the battery out or simply ignore it. A baby is a living, breathing, needful life. If you find yourself in a position where you can’t depend on and take care of yourself, then you do not need to bring a child into the picture.

Because of shows like 16 and pregnant and Teen Mom, many young girls think that having a baby so young is acceptable and manageable. For girls who believe this, let me tell you that only a certain type of girl is featured on this type of show. Although some of the girls have problems with their baby daddy’s and financial issues, they have strong support systems. If they are unable to take care of their children, there are others around to help pick of the slack and pay for essentials. The girls on these shows are able to move out, attend school and work as well because of their support systems.

Unfortunately, not all teen moms are so lucky. For most, life can be extremely stressful. Most teen moms do not have strong support systems, forcing them to quit school and care for their children full-time. This may prevent them from getting a job and producing enough income to buy what she and the baby needs. When the mother is able to work, she’s not making that much money because she didn’t finish school. She’s still struggling to buy what she in the baby needs. The baby’s father may want nothing to do with the child or provide little support.

This young lady clearly wasn’t ready to face the dark reality of teen pregnancy. It’s hard. It’s stressful. There are no guarantees that anyone will help you.  Although it’s tragic that this mother tried to kill her son, we can all learn something from this incident.
