Scientologists to Take Legal Action Against Cult Victim Group

The Church of Scientology is considering taking legal action against a volunteer organization that helps cult victims and their family members. The Church of Scientology claims that the organization, Cult Information and Family Support, vilified them in a brochure that advertises a conference they’re having later this year.

The brochure, which advertises  the organization’s national conference in Brisbane in August, features a quote claiming that Scientology is a criminal organization. The brochure also includes allegations that members have experienced torture, blackmail, violence, labor camps, imprisonment and forced abortions at the hands of the church. All in all, the leaders of the church find the brochure to be defamatory and insulting.

The church wants the mention of Scientology removed from the brochure and a written apology from Cult Information and Family Support. As of now, Cult Information and Family Support refuses.
