Call For Submissions and Contests

One of my goals this year is to become more involved in the writing community. It’s so hard to make it as a writer, especially if you’re indie or self published so I think it’s important to help and encourage each other. In the spirit of that, here are some calls for submissions and contests you can enter.

Too Much, An Anthology on Excess: Unknown Press is putting together a print and e-book version of an anthology. The theme is all about excess so send in your strange, bizarre and touching tales about taking things to the extreme when it comes to sex, alcohol, drugs, the internet, video games, work, relationships or whatever you consider addictive. Creative non-fiction is preferred, but they are open to taking poems and works of fiction too. Aim for under 5000 words.

Deadline is March 1st 2014. For more details visit http://outwherethebusesdontrun.com/2014/01/28/call-for-submissions-too-much-an-anthology-about-excess/

Ghostly Echoes: Spooky Tales from Around the World: Send in your spooky, kid friendly (ages 10 to 14) stories! Ghosts, goblins, demons, witches, or anything else frightening is welcome. Aim for 300 to 1200 words. Although short stories are preferred, poems are also welcomed.

Deadline is June 1st, 2014. For more details go to http://melusinemusepress.blogspot.co.uk/p/calls-for-submissions.html

SuperHERo Tales (Volume 2): For this anthology, you have to create a female superhero. All you have to do is fill out the form that provides background information on your hero. From there, write a flash fiction or short story between 300 and 1000 words that’s a complete scene. It can be about any aspect of the hero’s life (if you do a romance scene keep it PG). If you participated in this last year, you can use the same hero, but it has to be a different story.

Deadline is June 15, 2014. For more details go to http://melusinemusepress.blogspot.co.uk/p/calls-for-submissions.html

Melusine Muse Press also has three other anthologies you can submit stories to. If you are interested in having your work featured in Paw Prints: Cat Stories to Warm the Heart, Teapot Tales: Pirates, Mermaids, and Monsters of the Sea, or World of the Fae, check out the official rules and details at http://melusinemusepress.blogspot.co.uk/p/calls-for-submissions.html

Freedomfiction.com is  seeking submissions.
