March 20th marked the arrival of spring! I don’t know about the rest of you, but I couldn’t be more exciting for spring to be here. In celebration of the season’s arrival, here are ten things that will make you fall in love with springtime.
It’s not winter anymore: This winter was awful! It was far too snowy, icy and rainy this year. Now that winter’s over, we can say goodbye to the ice, snow and freezing temperatures.
It’s colorful: The only colors we get to see during winter are browns and gray. Spring brings back the color into our lives. Purples, pinks, greens, blues and reds are about to make a comeback.
The world springs back to life: Everything seems so dead in winter. People stay inside and animals hibernate or migrate in the winter. Most the flowers and vegetation whither away or lay dormant. Now that spring is here the grass will grow, trees will start to grow leaves, and people and animals will come out of hiding.
Easter: Jesus is the reason for the season, but how can you resist chocolate bunnies and candy?
Bearable temperatures: It doesn’t feel like two degrees anymore! Finally we can walk around without having to bundle up. It’s also not ridiculously hot outside, which is nice too.
Outdoor activities: As mentioned before, you can go outside without sweating your body weight or freezing. This makes spring the perfect season to go the park, exercise outside, take walks, lounge by the pool, have picnics, read and so much more!
Fresh air: All winter we are plagued by stagnant air in order to keep warm. Spring allows us to open up the windows and let some fresh air in. It will perk you up and make you feel better.
More daylight: The shitty thing about winter is that you go to work in the dark and leave in the dark. It can be depressing. Spring allows us to spend more time in the sun. The extra sunlight also improves our mood.
Summer’s almost here: Spring is a great warm up for all the summer fun.
Barbecues and picnics: There’s nothing tastier than barbecue ribs fresh off the grill. Eating outside is pretty awesome too.
