Awesome List 7

Welcome to the 7th edition of the awesome list! If you’re unfamiliar with the awesome list, it’s where I tell you guys what I found to be awesome during that month. I know I’m missing a couple months and a few days late, but it happens. On to September’s awesomeness!

space dandy crew

Space Dandy: I know Space Dandy has been featured at least three times already, but it’s just that awesome. The series ended September 27th and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with it. It has become my favorite anime. If you haven’t watched it yet, you should.

Death Note: Speaking of anime, I rewatched Death Note and fell even more in love with it. For those you unfamiliar with the series, it’s about a high school student named Light who comes to find a notebook that belongs to a god of death. Light uses the notebook to create a new world in which he is God. If you haven’t watched it, you should definitely check it out. It will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time.

Gurren Lagann: The last anime I want to talk about is Gurren Lagann. It’s about a two boys, Kamina and Simon, who were living in a village below the surface. With the help of a mobile suit device called a gunman, they break to the surface and vow to reclaim it. It’s funny, action packed and filled with innuedo. Check it out if you haven’t already!

Lisbug’s Shake it Off Parody: I thought this was the cutest thing! It calls people on their bullshit and focuses on the positive at the same time.

Ghostly Echoes Spooky Tales From around the World: Wanna get spooked? Then you should check out this amazing anthology series. All proceeds go towards the Chapter Book Challenge!

Teefury.com: Want to get nerdy t-shirts. Teefury is the place to be! Every day or every couple of days two different style t-shirts battle it out for your votes and purchases! They only go on sale for a limited time so you have to beat the clock. The only thing I don’t like is the shipping fee, but they have great designs.

Popuptee.com: Another great sight to get limited edition, nerdy t-shirts! There’s no shipping fee here and the quality of the shirts and designs are awesome. I have gotten a lot of t-shirts from here.

Cards Against Humanity online: The game every fucked up degenerate loves can now be played online with friends or strangers! It’s really fun and there are lots of different play options you can choose.

Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack: I saw the movie back in August and got the soundtrack for it in September. It’s amazing! Very old school and fun. If you haven’t listened to the soundtrack yet or have seen Guardians of the Galaxy then you should definitely check them out!

Rammstein: Rammstein is a German metal band that I’ve loved since middle school. Some of their songs are serious while some are silly. Either way all their songs are awesome.

Bayside: I heart a couple of their songs in high school and never really followed up. Then I saw them at Warped Tour and fell in love. They’re an awesome band with amazing songs. Sure they may be a little depressing, but they’re awesome nonetheless.

Awesome List 6th Edition

Welcome to the 6th addition of the awesome list! For those who are new here, I write about all the things I found awesome for that month during the last scheduled posting day of the month. Here’s what I found awesome in July!

Battle of Five Armies trailer: At long last, the trailer for the last installment of the Hobbit was released! It looks really good and I can’t wait to see it.

Suburban Gothic trailer: Suburban Gothic is an eccentric horror comedy featuring two of my favorite actors: Matthew Gray Gubler and Kat Dennings. It’s about a guy named Raymond who is forced to move back home with his parents and has to stop a ghost from terrorizing the town. It looks really funny and I can’t wait to watch it.

Leaked Deadpool footage: Does this mean a Deadpool movie will grace our screens soon? Probably not, but one can dream. If the link doesn’t embed, just google it. You’ll find it in no time.

Sailor Moon Crystal: As most of you know I hate subtitles. But I’m willing to endure it for Sailor Moon. Although I’m not crazy about the CGI and Serena-err Usagi-looking more like 20 year old model, so far I’m enjoying the reboot.

Space Dandy: As most you also know I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Space Dandy! The new season has kicked off and it’s glorious. Space Dandy for life.

This Book is Full of Spiders: I think I finished it last month or the month before and got to mention it. Either way it was really good. An interesting take on zombies, infectious disease, and things that go bump in the night.

Ruzzle Adventure: This puzzle game is really addicting. Helps get the brain juices flowing.

Cotton Candy: Who doesn’t love brightly colored sugar?

Awesome List II

Welcome to the second edition of The Awesome List! Every month I’ll share some things that I found awesome. Without further ado, here are some of my favorite things from March.

Space Dandy: Space Dandy has been on Toonami since January, but it’s still worth mentioning! It’s becoming one of my favorite anime’s. I like Space Dandy because the show is absurd and touching at the same time. It’s hilarious and campy, but can be serious and heartfelt. It breaks the fourth wall all the time. The visuals and colors are amazing. If you haven’t checked it out already, you can find it online or watch it on Toonami Saturdays at 11:30 pm.

Blue Exorcist: Blue Exorcist is another anime I’ve gotten into. The plot is really intriguing and the characters are pretty cool. It’s really heavy stuff, but I love how they add humor to help lighten the mood. I actually laughed out loud a few times. You can catch Blue Exorcist on Toonami Saturday night/Sunday morning  at 1:30.

Tapped Out: It’s kind of like The Sims, but with characters from the Simpson’s. It’s pretty fun. Haven’t gotten bored yet.

The Author’s Show: The Author’s Show is an online program that allows authors to promote themselves and their novels.  I went on the Author’s Show earlier this month and it was such an awesome experience! The host, Don, was extremely professional and patient with me since it was my first interview ever. I would definitely recommend requesting to be interviewed on the show.

To learn more about the show and to listen to other great authors talk about their books, go here! My interview can be found in the archives or you can go on the Where You Can Find Me page of this blog to listen to it.

The Paradigm Shift: The Paradigm Shift is Korn’s latest album. I caved and bought it after falling in love with their single Spike in My Veins. Although it kind of falls apart towards the end, I think it’s a really great album. It’s heavy and hard-hitting and Jonathan Davis has really improved as a vocalist. It reminds me of Korn’s glory days.

Reddit: I LOVE Reddit. I can’t say enough good things about it. At first it was a little rough to navigate/understand (at times it still is) but it’s still a really fun place to be and share ideas/experiences/likes/dislikes with other people.

Rothbury Cheese Garlic Croutons: These are the most delicious croutons I have ever tasted. They don’t even have to be in the salad. Eat em like chips!

Oriental Trading Company: I threw myself a book signing party the 15th and brought a lot of my decorations and party favors from here. Most of the products I purchased were in good condition, but just as a fair warning be sure to read the product reviews. The personalized shot glasses I ordered didn’t come with the personalized stickers I needed. A lot of them were also stuck together when I tried to pull them apart and decorate them. The reviews said they weren’t that great, but I got them anyway. Everything else I ordered was perfect though. Go here if you want to check them out!

Spring: Spring is finally here! I don’t know how longer I could deal with the snow and cold weather. I know that temperatures aren’t going to get better overnight, but just knowing that relief is on the way makes me smile.

That’s it for now folks! What things did you find awesome this month? Is there anything awesome that you want the readers to know about? Let me know in the comments and you may see it on next month’s list.
